DAF Counselling

DAF offers individual counselling sessions to clients at any stage in their recovery process. Whether someone is in the early stages of abstaining from substances or many years clean but needing additional help and support, DAF's one-to-one counselling service is suitable for their needs. DAF counsellors are also proficient at working with all addictive disorders.

Individual counselling is a place to explore addiction, the client's relationship to the world and others, coping with life free of substances and help with maintaining abstinence. Being in one-to-one counselling sessions affords the client the opportunity of really fully focusing on their inner/outer worlds and is a place like no other in everyday life to concentrate on personal understanding and making long-term change.

Counselling sessions are conducted by experienced and highly qualified counsellors/psychotherapists who have a depth of experience working in addiction in a variety of settings, including community agencies, prisons, hostels and residential treatment centres.

There are a limited number of low fee counselling places available for clients who cannot afford the full fee or do not qualify for Social Services funding. DAF is committed to providing access to treatment regardless of individual financial status, but as the organisation has to fundraise for these placements, individual circumstances will be explored at assessment.
