Eating Disorder Service

DAF provides services to clients who are struggling with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Compulsive Overeating or Binge Eating. The service is available to all people over 18 who have an eating disorder, whether they have another addiction problem, such as drugs or alcohol, or not. 

The outpatient service is run by counsellors with a specialist knowledge of eating disorders and an understanding of the struggle that people are going through on a daily basis.  The service includes: 

  • A twice-weekly group therapy session.
  • An individual counselling session.
  • Family/significant other therapy session.
  • Assignments (practical and written).
  • Monitoring.

The criteria for being accepted onto the service are:

  • Clients must be 18 years old or over.
  • Clients between the ages of 18 and 24 will need to have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of at least 16.
  • Clients aged 25 and above will need to have a BMI of at least 14. 

Each client has an individual Care Plan tailored to their individual needs.

The cost of the programme is £165 per week (or £1,980 for the full 12 weeks).  The initial assessment charge is £39.00.
